Five ways to well-being resources & A Young Person’s Guide
The Five ways to well-being are five really simple actions you can do every day to help you feel healthier, happier and more positive. In A Young Person’s Guide you may find some useful resources to support your young person's mental health and wellbeing, including apps, local services and national helplines.
ChatHealth offers a simple, convenient and confidential text messaging service for parents of children and young people in Hampshire aged 5-19. The team is made up of school nurses working within Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust.
ChatHealth allows parents in Hampshire to text messages to a dedicated number 07507 332417; the messages are then delivered to a secure website. Once received, the school nurse will respond to the text within one working day.
ChatHealth is available 9 am - 4.30 pm on Monday to Thursday and 9 am - 4 pm on Fridays (excluding bank holidays). Any parent who texts the service outside of these hours will receive an automated message with advice of where to get help if their question is urgent.
Hampshire Children’s Wellbeing Support Service
(You can access this via your GP)
The Children’s Wellbeing Support Service provides much needed early intervention and support for parents of children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs which can present in a similar way to Autism, Attention Deficit Disorder, Attachment Disorder, anxiety and poor emotional wellbeing.
Families identified as having difficulties such as the one listed above can be referred to the Wellbeing Support Service, who will work with parents to identify needs and recommend onward support where appropriate.
CAMHS
Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) are an NHS service that aims to help young people who are finding it hard to manage their emotional and psychological health, and who are suffering with acute, chronic and severe mental health problems.
Hampshire Youth Access is a free, confidential counselling service for 5-10 year olds across Hampshire.
Winston's Wish is a charity that helps children, teenagers and young adults (up to the age of 25) find their feet when their worlds are turned upside down by grief.
