Our Church
Crookham CE(A) Infant School and Christ Church Crookham are at the heart of the community in the village of Church Crookham. We value our strong links with the church and children walk across to the church to celebrate key festivals and for special services throughout the year, including the celebration of Harvest, Christingle and Easter. Parents and other members of the family are invited to join their children at church.
The incumbent vicar (most recently Reverend Steve Franklin) is a regular visitor to school to lead Collective Worship and works closely with the leadership team to plan worship for pupils and staff and support the teaching of Religious Education. Other members of the church community join our vicar in being active governors and sharing in the daily life of the school in visits, celebrations and events.
We are also pleased to have close links with other members of the Christian community who help us to show God’s love in meaningful ways. David Betts, who works alongside the Chaplaincy at Aldershot Garrison, works with military families and children in his support to schools role. All our pupils benefit from his regular visits to our school to lead Collective Worship.
We all enjoy visits from a team from the Open the Book project who come to school fortnightly to give our children the opportunity to hear the major stories from the Bible told interactively.
